Andrea Nichols Senior Pilates instructor, Studio Owner

Andrea Nichols

Andrea discovered the endless benefits of Pilates when knee pain forced her to stop her typical fitness routines in early 2008. Pilates was unlike anything she had ever experiences and her immediate love led her to enroll in a Pilates Apprentice program before the end of 2008 and later complete a Pilates training program. In 2014, while managing a local Pilates Studio in Fort Mill, Andrea applied and was accepted into Lolita San Miguel’s two year Pilates Master Mentor Program in Florida. Lolita trained with Joseph Pilates while a Prima Ballerina in New York, NY and was one of only two people to receive a Pilates Teaching Certificate directly from Joseph Pilates himself, making Lolita a First Generation Pilates Teacher. When Andrea graduated the PMMP in 2017 as a Second Generation Pilates Teacher, she was then invited to complete the invitation only teacher training program, Lolita’s Legacy. Upon completion of the Legacy training, Andrea now has the honor to teach and train other teachers within the Pilates industry. Andrea is also a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and has two certificates of specialization through NASM, Corrective Exercise Specialization and Fitness Nutrition Specialization.

Melissa Crawford Senior Pilates Instructor

Melissa Crawford

Melissa has been a student of Pilates for over 23 years. Her own personal relationship with the method led her to complete a two year teaching mentorship program from 2010 to 2012. She later completed the prestigious full comprehensive Pilates certification from Balance Body Pilates.  Melissa’s passion for Pilates comes from the deep mind-body connection experienced in every session as well as the unique Pilates community she has been a part of for the last two decades. Since joining Pilates Cure Studio, Melissa has expanded her certifications to also include TRX Suspension Training and BBarreless. Melissa is a Fort Mill native, who has been working as a Dental Hygienist since graduating from York Technical College in 1999. She currently lives in Indian Land with her son and husband.

Patti Sack Senior Pilates Instructor

Patti started taking her first Pilates classes in 2009, and instantly fell in love with the Method. Living with the physical and neurological limitations caused by infant spinal meningitis, any type of coordinated exercise or sports were usually considered beyond her physical capabilities. Pilates changed that. Its intentional system of whole-body exercise was proof that this method “works” – it was accessible, it was a choreography she could actually perform, and it sparked a great interest in learning as much as possible about its “Mind-Body” connection. For the first time in her life, Patti stood straighter, had better balance, and she wasn’t entirely at the mercy of her body’s “disability”. Patti became a Pilates Method Alliance (PMA)-certified instructor in 2015 after completing her comprehensive training with Balance Point Pilates. She believes in creating challenging classes that are accessible to every body, regardless of age, level of ability, or exercise history.

In addition to group classes, Patti is also passionate about teaching the Pilates Method to help clients like herself with neurological conditions, such as Parkinson’s, Charcot-Marie-Tooth, and MS. She completed a 2017 workshop with the Neuro Studio, developed by Pilates instructors Meghann K Duffy and Mariska Breland. Patti stays current with her PMA certification by pursuing continuing education credits for Pilates for Neurological Conditions, as well as with workshops for Pilates for the “Active Aging” population. She also loves to learn from all different types of Pilates training and instructors, and will always consider herself to be both a client and a student.

MEGAN WORDSWORTH PILATES INSTRUCTOR

Megan started practicing Pilates in 2008 after searching for a way to manage her chronic pain. After experiencing first-hand, the immediate results Pilates offers, she instantly fell in love with the Method. Moving from the mat to apparatus, she found herself taking apparatus classes 4-5 times a week at a local studio in Wilmington, NC. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a BA in Communication Studies in 2017, work led her to NYC and LA before finally landing in Charlotte.

No matter where life has taken her, Megan has always found refuge on the mat. In 2018, Megan, inspired by her mentor Carrie Pages, enrolled and completed her Mat and Full Apparatus certifications through the In Balance Pilates Certification Program. Her commitment to becoming a better student and teacher, led her to complete the Classical Advanced Pilates Weekend Workshop at In Balance Pilates Studio in Wilmington, NC, which in total, included 450 hours of practical work, observation and apprenticeship.
